Raising Angel Funding, a seminar with Chris Geddes

Chris D. Geddes, Ph.D., FRSC, professor of chemistry and biochemistry at the University of
Maryland Baltimore County, and director of UMBC’s Institute of Fluorescence, holds over 100
patents in the fields of fluorescence and plasmonics. His roles and interactions with industry have
created enterprise value in excess of $100 Million dollars. Dr. Geddes has founded 4 companies
himself with over 350 products commercialized today. As an individual investor and as a member
of Baltimore Angels investment group, he has invested and participates in a great many more
companies.

Dr. Geddes has secured in excess of $25 million in recent years to pursue his research aspirations. Dr. Geddes brings a unique blend of experiences from an academic researcher to entrepreneur to angel investor and will share his experiences from both sides of the term sheet, as a serial entrepreneur and an investor. His experience in our local entrepreneurial ecosystem will provide a wealth of practical knowledge for those involved in or considering commercializing technology.
