September/October 2017 Highlights

On September 19th, representative of Boston Scientific met with students in the East Baltimore Campus in a Mix and Mingle event organized by the Hopkins Biotech Network. The presentation was based on the technologies, such as Defibrillators and Pacemakers, that Boston Scientific leads innovation in the field of patient care and health. They also talked about the various internship and job opportunities in the company and also elaborated on applications for jobs. There was great engagement with the audience who interacted with a member of the Boston Scientific team during and after the event. This was a great opportunity for trainees, from different schools and stages of training, to interact and learn more about Boston Scientific.

The guest speakers provided great insights for funding opportunities and personal perspectives as established entrepreneurs.


A Health & Sciences Roundtable Discussion October 4, at the University of Maryland Pharmacy School turned out to be a very lively discussion.  Discussions addressed the challenges of preparing graduate students for real world issues and hurdles in industry and entrepreneurship.

The University of Maryland Pharmacy School has trademarked the term pharmapreneurship to describe their pharmacy entrepreneurs.


There is a desire to increase the awareness of positive strides that the Baltimore technology innovation is accomplishing.
