The Hopkins Biotech Network is committed to curating resources that will help you grow as a scientist and professional. Below you'll find biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medtech resources for entrepreneurs including: local and national accelerators, venture programs, and breakthrough news outlets.

Accelerate Baltimore – An initiative of the Emerging Technology Centers (ETC), Baltimore’s award winning incubator, and The Abell Foundation. ETC stands with the activists, change-makers, and problem-solvers to facilitate the creation of impactful solutions and improvement of the lives of Baltimore citizens.
Early Charm – Specialize in taking brilliant scientific discoveries made at universities and turning them into companies focused on growth.
FastforwardU (FFU) – Johns Hopkins University’s hub for student entrepreneurship and innovation. FFU offers two accelerator programs, Fuel and Spark for early and mid stage ideation startups respectively and is a great place for Hopkins students to learn about business models and customer discovery.
FedTech – A venture firm at the intersection of entrepreneurship, breakthrough technologies, and mission-driven organizations.
Johns Hopkins Tech Ventures (JHTV) – A commercialization venture that aims to maximize the impact of Johns Hopkins University’s research excellence by facilitating the translation and commercialization of discoveries into accessible technologies, products and services.
TedCo – Resource center intended to assist promising start-up companies accelerate their path towards key milestones. The TEDCO Team collaborates with the start-up company and its other advisors to create an advisory solution that complements and augments the other assistance being received by the entrepreneur.
UpSurge Baltimore – An ecosystem builder and investment engine focused on launching Baltimore as the country’s first Equitech city.
Maryland.gov Business Resources – Information ranging from starting your business in Maryland to navigating state and local regulations.
Guy Kawasaki Method – The purpose of a pitch is to stimulate interest, not cover every aspect of your startup. The Guy Kawasaki method provides the only 10 slides you will need in your pitch.
Business Model Canvas – A great tool to help you understand a business model in a straightforward, structured way.
BrazenBioThe Brazen Fellowship is a competitive, in-person, ~12 week incubator program in Los Angeles, California for first-time founders to launch biotech companies based on their prior work and current ideas. The primary focus will be on demonstrating proof-of-concept (POC) in the laboratory to enable filing of a provisional patent application (PPA) AND an SBIR/STTR grant.
IndieBioIndieBio is the world’s first accelerator devoted to startups using biology to solve the world’s largest problems.IndieBio is part of SOSV, a global venture capital firm that operates startup investment programs.
Nucleate – Nucleate is a free and collaborative student-run organization that facilitates the formation of pioneering life sciences companies.

Entrepreneur First – Entrepreneur First is a 6-month program where you’ll get paid to test your ideas with a pool of exceptional people who want to build technology startups. Through the program you’ll have the opportunity to meet a co-founder, and by the end you’ll meet a network of investors to help you raise a first round of investment.
Global Biotech Revolution GAP Summit – Focused on creating a network of future and current bio-leaders who grow and support each other’s ideas and knowledge, and think innovatively on growing the global bio-economy through collaborative ventures.
Innovate UK Grant – Innovate UK helps businesses develop new products, services, and processes they need to grow through innovation.
Petri Bio Venture Associates program – Petri’s Venture Associates are current MBA and PhD students in bio + tech who are interested in a future in venture capital.
