Available Executive Board Positions

Responsibilities: The Vice President works closely with the President in managing the 5 HBN branches. Facilitates high level strategy for the group, long term growth, and pursues connections with local, national, and international assets to grow the network. Aids in the design of new initiatives to meet Hopkins student needs as well as cater to our growing national and international audience.
Associate Director of Alumni Relations (AR)
Responsibilities: The Associate Director(s) of Alumni Relations work closely with the AR branch director to maintain our network list and execute the HBN-CASSS Mentorship Program twice a year. This involves gathering mentors, organizing applications, pairing mentors, and engaging students/mentors. Associate Directors will interact with alumni professionals locally and nationally so the candidate should have good interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a team. Candidates will work under current directors with the opportunity to then assume a Director role.
Associate Director of Entrepreneurship (ENTP)
Responsibilities: The Associate Director(s) of Entrepreneurship work closely with the ENTP branch to cultivate startup/business partners, execute the Discover Entrepreneurship Series, and assist in cofounding the NucleateBio Accelerator in the DMV area. This role is an evolving opportunity to interact with entrepreneurs and venture capitol firms locally and nationals as we launch our business pitch competition. Candidates do not require entrepreneurship experience but should be interested in connecting and learning about the space. Candidates will be contacting professionals and coordinating with the national NucleateBio organization. They will work under current directors with the opportunity to then assume a Director role.
Associate Director of Industry Relations (IR)
Responsibilities: The Associate Director(s) of Industry Relations work closely with the current IR directors to carry out our monthly speaker HBN Happy Hour Chat (H3C) speaker and networking series. They will maintain industry contacts, moderate events, and maintain relationships with local companies and other Hopkins organizations to provide students with job opportunities and educational events. They will work under current directors with the opportunity to then assume a Director role.
Editor in Chief of the Transcript
Responsibilities: The Editor in Chief of the Transcript manages and edits submissions for our bimonthly newsletter, the Transcript. They will manage contributors, content editing, and newsletter distribution working under the current Editor, then assuming the full role.
Director of Events and Marketing
Responsibilities: The Associate Director of Marketing will work closely with the Director of Events and Marketing to organize and execute events and stay up to date on our social media presence. As Associate Director, they will work in all areas of HBN and gain exposure to industry, alumni, and entrepreneurial events and networks. No technical background is required, but familiarity with social media platforms is preferred.
Hopkins Biotech Podcast Host
Responsibilities: Interview a range of people across diverse life science industries (biotech/pharma, VC, science policy, consulting, etc). Looking for biotech enthusiasts who are interested in non-academic careers. Estimated time commitment: Each episode takes 1-2 hours to prep, ~1 hours to conduct the interview, ~1 hours for editing/workup.
Hopkins Biotech Podcast Head of Marketing
Responsibilities: Grow our audience & distribute Hopkins Biotech Podcast content among students & the biotech community. Creativity & organization preferred. Estimated time commitment: ~1-2 hours per episode.
Carey Business School Representative
Responsibilities: The Carey Business School Representative will update our Board on events and involvement at the Carey Business School to maintain relationships and integrate our club offerings. They will be responsible for designing and executing event ideas to involve Carey members in the HBN community and events.
Responsibilities: The Homewood Representative(s) will update our Board on events and involvement on the Homewood Campus. This member could be an undergraduate, graduate, or postdoc, but preferably would be based out of the Homewood Campus. They will also be responsible for designing and executing event ideas to involve Homewood members in the HBN community and events.
Head of Biotech Diversity and Inclusion
Responsibilities: This new role will coordinate with other biotechnology clubs around the US to discuss initiatives to improve access and inclusion in our space. They will attend diversity meetings with national chapters and report back to the HBN executive team.

General Body Member
Responsibilities: Depending on interests, General Body Reps can move between arms and participate in either single or recurring events hosted by HBN. Must commit to one or more HBN events in order to be considered.
