A Postdoctoral Research Scientist position is available for a self-motivated scientist to study and develop microfluidics based platforms for applications in noninvasive diagnostics (“liquid biopsy”). This scientist will contribute to the process characterization and validation of the Biofluidica platform. The Postdoctoral Researcher will be responsible for designing, testing, and evaluating methods and protocols. On-going projects include developing liquid biopsies for multiple myeloma, acute myeloid leukemia, pancreatic cancer, ovarian cancer, and other cancers. The incumbent will be required to analyze, summarize, and organize data collected for presentation at national meetings/conferences and for publication of results in professional journals. Applicants should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be available for an interview.
Education and Training
Requires doctoral level degree in a scientific discipline. Start-up culture experience a plus. Must possess strong communication and analytical skills; thorough knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures; and the ability to implement research projects. Experience in bioassay development (cell-based and molecular), experience in BSL-2 regulated environment, experience in development of microfluidics, cleanroom environment, microfabrication and related characterization techniques (SEM, AFM, profilometry), assembly and testing of microfluidic devices, their evaluation using test samples, etc.
