Wahid is an American Heart Association pre-doctoral fellow in Human Genetics graduate program at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Wahid is originally from India and earned BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Govt. College of Pharmacy, Karad. During his undergraduate studies Wahid has earned highest honors in Pharmaceutical Industrial Management and Jurisprudence; continuing his interest after graduation he worked as a Medical Sales Representative for pain management division of Abbott India Ltd. Wahid decided to broaden his intellectual skillsets and moved on to pursue PhD in Biomedical Sciences. Wahid is currently entering in 4th year of his studies and working in the field of Cancer Genetics to understand the effects of aneuploidy on epigenetic regulation. Wahid has authored six peer reviewed scientific publications with over 200 citations and also presented extensively at scientific meetings. Wahid's decision to join HBN was driven by curiosity for the confluence of Biomedical Sciences, technology and entrepreneurship. Wahid strongly believes that HBN has an ideal environment for professional development as it consist of members with a broad range of backgrounds and expertise. In addition to his involvement in HBN, Wahid is a student ambassador and an executive board member of Committee for Postdocs and Students (COMPASS) of American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB). Wahid enjoys Science as an Art and has led a collaboration of scientists and artists to organize an exhibition at Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City.
